Muthusamy joins DMK

S. Muthusamy, former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Minister and organisation secretary, on Monday joined the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

Calling on the DMK president and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at the DMK headquarters, Mr. Muthusamy submitted to him the party membership form.

Later, he told reporters that he would formally join the party along with his supporters on Saturday.

Asked whether he would be given any position in the DMK, Mr. Muthusamy, who was Minister in the governments headed by M.G. Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa, replied that he was joining the ruling party without expecting any reward.

V.K. Chinnasamy, C. Manickam and V.P. Mathaiyan, former AIADMK Members of Legislative Assembly, were among those who joined the DMK.

DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin and DMK Erode district secretary (in-charge) N.K.K. Periasamy were present on the occasion.
