Summer vacation for court

The summer vacation for the Madras High Court started on Saturday and will end on June 6.

At the Principal Seat, Acting Chief Justice Elipe Dharma Rao and Justices K. Venkataraman, T.S. Sivagnanam and C.S. Karnan will be the vacation Judges for the sitting dates on May 5, 6, 12 and 13.

The Acting CJ and Mr. Justice Sivagnanam will first sit in a Division for disposal of urgent Bench matters. After Division Bench work, Mr. Justice Sivagnanam will sit single.

Similarly, Justices V. Dhanapalan, D. Hariparanthaman and N. Kirubakaran will be the vacation Judges for the sitting dates on May 19, 20, 26 and 27.

Mr. Justice V. Dhanapalan and Mr. Justice Hariparanthaman will be on the Division Bench.

Justices N. Paul Vasanthakumar, C.T. Selvam and M.M. Sundresh will be the vacation Judges on June 2 and 3. Mr. Justice Paul Vasanthakumar and Mr. Justice Sundresh will constitute the Division Bench.

Filing dates

The dates of filing are May 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 and June 1.

The Vacation Judges will sit from 10.30 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. No application should be presented at the residence of Vacation Judges under any circumstances and no lunch motion would be entertained during the vacation sittings, according to a High Court notification.
