The report on Sirudhavur land grabbing case allegedly involving former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and her friend Sasikala was submitted on Sunday to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
The 813-page report in two volumes was drafted after statements of 40 witnesses were taken into account, former High Court judge Justice K.P. Sivasubramanian, who inquired into it, told reporters here.
The government appointed a Commission of Inquiry on July 27, 2006 to inquire into the causes and circumstances resulting in allegations of fraudulent land grabbing from adi dravidars and landless poor of Siruthavur village in Kancheepuram district.
The appointment of a Commission was necessitated on a petition by late CPI(M) state secretary N Varadarajan in July 2006.
The DMK government constituted the Commission following the complaint that Ms. Jayalalithaa and Ms. Sasikala had allegedly taken over 50 acres of land allotted to adi dravidars and landless poor and constructed a bungalow.
