Golden Peace Dove arrives in Puducherry

A ‘Golden Peace Dove’ named after Sri Aurobindo was handed over to Auroville Institute of Applied Technology (AIAT) by German partner institute “Kaufmannische Lehranstalten Bremerhaven” on Wednesday.

According to a press release, the dove was one of the peace doves named after international personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King to the 30 Golden Doves created by German artist Richard Hillinger which was distributed in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights. The doves have been sent around the world as symbols of peace and global friendship.

The German institute had received the dove from UNESCO institute for philosophy at Bremen University. From AIAT, the dove will be taken to 12 other institutes across India, added the release.

Professor Anne Schmeckies from the German institute and Principal of AIAT Lavkamad Chandra were present.
