Pathanamthitta MLA, K.Sivadasan Nair, has staged a walk-out from the high-level review meeting held at Pampa on Sunday, alleging ``indifference and casual approach’’ on the part of the Left Democratic Front government towards Sabarimala affairs.
The MLA alleged that the failure on the part of the Chief Minister in attending the review meet itself was a testimony to the government’s casual approach towards Sabarimala pilgrimage. Though Mr Achuthanandan
had canceled his Pampa visit on health grounds, he had attended a major public function in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday, besides holding official discussions in the State capital on Sunday, the MLA alleged.
Mr Nair also alleged that even the Pathanamthitta MP, Anto Antony, was not informed of Monday’s review meeting.
Minister flays MLA Meanwhile, Water Resources Minister, N.K.Premachandran, alleged that the Congress(I) MLA’s walk-out was part of a attempt to divert public attention from the achievements of the State Government in improving the pilgrim facilities at Sabarimala.
Mr Premachandran said collective and well co-ordinated effort by various stakeholders at Sabarimala was behind the successful implementation of various pilgrim amenity schemes at Sabarimala and LDF was not for politicising Sabarimala affairs.
