The chairman of Kerala-based Dalit Human Rights Movement (DHRM), V.V. Selvaraj, wanted in connection with a murder case, has been arrested, police said on Friday.

Selvaraj, prime accused in the Siva Prasad murder case, and absconding for several months, was arrested from Vadekkekkara near Aluva, on Thursday, police said.

Selvaraj has been to Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram where the murder case was registered.

Police were on the lookout for Selvaraj after Siva Prasad (61), a businessman, was hacked to death in September 2009 while he was on his morning walk at Varkala, the sources said.
