K. Ramnarayan is the new Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University. He is the fifth Vice-Chancellor of the university and takes over from Rajasekharan P. Warrier, who resigned recently.

Chancellor of Manipal University Ramdas M. Pai told presspersons here on Monday that Dr. Ramnarayan was the Dean of Melaka-Manipal Medical College (Manipal campus) since its inception in 1997 till May 2010, when he was appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor. He had a distinguished career spanning over 33 years. After completing his MBBS from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, he joined Kasturba Medical College as a tutor-cum-postgraduate in 1977.
