You are acting in Pazhassi Raja . It resembles Oru Vadakkan Veera Katha .

That’s because martial arts form the backdrop of both films. While Oru Vadakkan Veera Katha narrates the story of a warrior, Pazhassi Raja highlights love for one’s motherland. They are different.

Why are not you seen often in Tamil films?

I have acted in some good films in Tamil. As I am busy in Malayalam, I do not have much time to spare for Tamil. As far as I’m concerned, language is no barrier at all. I am acting with Arjun in Aruvadai , produced by Henry.

What do you feel about being part of multi-star cast films?

I am happy to work with any star as all of them are my friends. I have acted in all types of films, the recent one being Pazhassi Raja where I work with Sarath Kumar. To me, work is important; I must do justice to the character I play.

Do you think a historical movie like Pazhassi Raja will be well received by the audience?

He is one of the early freedom fighters to have protested against the British in our country. I play the raja, and Sarath, his lieutenant. We have done a number of action sequences and not made use of computer graphics. We have worked with a wonderful team — Ilaiyaraja, Resul Pookutty and M. T.Vasudevan Nair. I feel this will be a landmark film.
